Screen recorder for Windows 11

Just record. Glidewright does the zoom.

While you record, Glidewright remembers where you click and type. In the editor that becomes smooth zoom moves, a cursor people can see and a clean background – no keyframes, no tracking by hand.

Glidewright in 45 seconds

Watch a tutorial edit itself.

The film follows shortly. Until then: the loop at the top shows the real thing.

At a glance

  • Auto zoom

Every click and every stretch of typing becomes a smooth zoom you can adjust.

  • Cursor

Redrawn larger and steadier, with a click ring and shortcuts like Ctrl + S.

  • Exports

YouTube 4K60, 1080p, Shorts, square, GIF – with your graphics card’s encoder.

  • Local

No account, no cloud, no telemetry. Projects live in your Videos folder.

How it works

Three steps, and the middle one is not yours.

  1. 1

    Record

Pick a screen, a window or a region, press the shortcut and work as usual. Microphone, system audio and webcam land on separate tracks.

  2. 2

    Glidewright zooms

From your clicks and typing it suggests zooms, smooths the cursor and puts the video on a background. You look it over and adjust if you like.

  3. 3

    Export

Pick a preset – YouTube, tutorial, Shorts, social, GIF – and keep working while the export runs in the background.

Auto zoom

The camera goes where you click.

Glidewright records clicks and typing phases alongside the video. In the editor every one becomes a zoom suggestion; quick click sequences merge into one zoom, and the camera glides in and out instead of jumping. On the zoom track you change the level, the transition and “Follow the cursor”, add zooms or delete them.

  • Zoom levels from 1.2× to 4×, transitions smooth, quick or cut
  • Typing zooms in on the text field you are filling in
  • “Recalculate” starts over from your clicks

Cursor

A cursor people can actually follow.

The system cursor is tiny in a 4K video and shakes with every hand movement. Glidewright records its path and draws it new: larger, smoothed, with a ring or pulse on every click. Shortcuts like Ctrl + S appear as an overlay – single keys are never recorded.

  • Size and smoothing as sliders
  • Click effect ring, pulse or off
  • Only shortcuts with Ctrl, Alt or Win are shown

Backgrounds

Out of the desktop, onto a stage.

Your recording sits on a gradient or your own image, with padding, rounded corners and a soft shadow. The webcam goes in a corner as a circle or rounded rectangle and gets smaller automatically while zoomed in.

Webcam

Your face in the corner, out of the way.

The webcam is recorded as its own track. In the editor it sits in a corner as a circle or a rounded rectangle, at the size you choose – and when the camera zooms in, it gets smaller automatically so it never covers what you are showing.

  • Circle or rounded, any corner, size as a slider
  • Shrinks automatically while zoomed in
  • Switch it on or off for the whole video

Presets for YouTube 4K60, tutorial 1080p30, Shorts and Reels in 1080 × 1920, social 1080 × 1080, GIF for docs and audio only. Portrait and square follow the cursor with an automatic crop, so the action stays in the picture. Size and duration are estimated before you start.

  • H.264 and HEVC with the NVIDIA, AMD or Intel encoder, software as fallback
  • Exports keep running while you edit the next project

Compare

Glidewright, Camtasia, Screen Studio and OBS Studio.

Camtasia and Screen Studio also zoom automatically and smooth the cursor. They differ in platform, in price model and in what needs an account. OBS records very well, but it has no editor.

FAQ

Before you decide.

Does Glidewright record what I type?

No. During a recording it notes when you were typing (to zoom in) and shortcuts that use Ctrl, Alt or Win (for the overlay). Single keys and text are never recorded.

Which Windows do I need?

Windows 11, version 22H2 or later. A graphics card with a hardware encoder (NVIDIA, AMD or Intel) is recommended; without one, Glidewright exports more slowly in software. Windows N editions need the Media Feature Pack.

Can I record without the yellow capture border?

Yes. Windows asks once whether Glidewright may record without the border; after that it stays off.

Can I change the zooms afterwards?

Yes. Every zoom is a segment on the zoom track: change level, transition and “Follow the cursor”, move it, delete it or add your own. “Recalculate” starts over.

Does the recording toolbar end up in the video?

No. Windows excludes Glidewright’s small toolbar from the capture.

What about protected content like streaming services?

DRM-protected video stays black in the recording. That is how Windows protects it, and it is intended.

May I record other people?

Only with their consent – that applies to the webcam and to calls you record.

Is there an upload to YouTube?

No. Glidewright exports a file to your PC, and you upload it wherever you like. Nothing is uploaded automatically.

How does the trial work?

Install Glidewright from the Microsoft Store and use everything for 15 days, free; exports carry a small watermark. After that you buy once (€79, all 1.x updates included). Without a license your projects stay openable and editable, but recording and exporting need the full version.

Are subtitles included?

Not yet. Automatic subtitles are planned for version 1.1.
