Zoom on clicks and typing

It zooms in where you click and type.

In a 4K frame nobody sees which button you clicked. Glidewright notes every click and every stretch of typing while you record. In the editor it turns them into zoom moves. You look them over, adjust, export.

How it works

  1. 1

Record as usual. Glidewright stores where you click and when you type – with the position of the text caret if Windows reports it. Never the keys.

  2. 2

The first time you open the recording, auto zoom runs once. Clicks close together in time and place become one zoom. A typing phase zooms in on the field you type in.

  3. 3

The level follows the size of the group: 2.0× for clicks, 2.2× for typing, between 1.4× and 2.6×, always wide enough for the whole group.

  4. 4

The camera glides in and out. If the next zoom starts less than 1.2 seconds later, it pans straight over instead of zooming out and in again.

  5. 5

On the zoom track you change, add or delete zooms. Then export.

Good to know

  • Three transitions

Per zoom: Smooth (0.8 s), Quick (0.4 s) or Cut. Levels are blended so zooming in and out feels even.

  • Zoom track

Select a zoom, drag it, extend it at its edges. Delete removes it, “+ Zoom” adds one. The level slider goes from 1.2× to 4×. Every change can be undone.

  • Follow the cursor

The zoomed area moves with the cursor, smoothed, and keeps it inside the middle 70 % of the frame. The camera never leaves the video.

  • Recalculate

“Recalculate” runs auto zoom again from scratch. Zooms you added by hand stay.

  • Overview and zoom preview

The overview shows the whole video with the selected zoom marked in orange (“Zoom 3 · 2.0×”). The zoom preview shows the finished picture.

  • Rules, not AI

Auto zoom is a fixed set of rules on your PC. The same recording always gives the same zooms. Nothing is uploaded.

FAQ

Questions

Does Glidewright record what I type?

No. For a typing phase it stores only start, end and the caret position. No keys, no number of keystrokes. Text and password lengths cannot be reconstructed.

What if an app doesn’t report the caret?

Browsers often don’t. Then the zoom aims at the field you clicked last.

Does auto zoom change my recording?

No. Zooms and all other edits are saved in the project. The recording itself stays untouched, so “Recalculate” always starts from the original.

Is auto zoom in the trial?

Yes, everything works for 15 days. Exports carry a small watermark. After that you buy Glidewright once for €79, no subscription.
